With World Cup fever sweeping the nation it didn't take long for the studio to get caught up in it too. With the arguments already in full swing as to who everyone thinks will win we thought it would be interesting to put the whole thing to a vote and let the public decide! We put together a little in-house project that explores the use of cross browser typography and infographics. Visitors can vote for the team they think will win and results are shown in realtime. The size and opacity of each country is a direct reflection on the number of votes they've received.
Over the course of this little project we've researched a tonne of different approaches, some some successful, some not so, with the presentation of cross browser typography. For this particular outing we settled for SVG (where supported natively) and PNG's. Although the mechanic is not entirely dynamic and reusable it's been a great eye opener in terms what's possible as well as opening up new avenues for further exploration.
